Impact Docket – 04/29/26

This is a special edition of the Impact Docket — because in just 2 days, something historic is going to happen.

This Friday, May 1, lawyers across America will gather at courthouses in 60+ events nationwide to publicly retake their oaths and declare that the rule of law is not negotiable.

We need you there. Please do not sit this one out.

Last year, Law Day of Action brought out 10,000+ lawyers across 50+ cities — the largest gathering of legal professionals specifically as lawyers to defend the rule of law in this country's history. This year, we need to go bigger. 60 events are confirmed nationwide, and every registration, every attendee, every city on the map makes the message louder.

This moment is crucial because the numbers will be heard. After May 1, L4GG will aggregate attendance across every event and report it to the media and the public. This year, with more events in more cities, we will show that the legal profession is not standing by — and that the number of lawyers willing to say so publicly is growing.

🏛️ Join the DC Flagship Event

📍L4GG.org/DCLawDay  | Friday, May 1 | 12:00 PM ET | Supreme Court

Ifyou’re in the DC area, please join us on the steps of the Supreme Court for the flagship event. L4GG Executive Director Traci Feit Love will lead the program, with remarks from Senator Mazie Hirono, Congressman Glenn Ivey, civil rights leader Barbara Arnwine of the Transformative Justice Coalition, American Constitution Society President Phil Brest, retired DC Superior Court Judge Herbert Dixon, and leaders from General Counsels United.

This is where the cameras will be. This is where the message starts.

📣 Spread the Word

Please help us make Law Day of Action impossible to ignore:

  • Forward this email to five colleagues — lawyers, law students, anyone who cares about the rule of law.

  • Post on social media using our toolkit — tell people why you're showing up on Friday, and tag #LawDayOfAction so we can find you.

  • Text your bar association colleagues — the more lawyers who know about this, the bigger the turnout, the louder the message.

Every person you reach is someone who might not have known this was happening. Be the reason they show up.

We'll be back next week with your regular Impact Docket — and with the numbers from May 1 to prove what this community is capable of.
