🔴 The Moment We’re In: No Kings, No Silence
Across the country, millions showed up for the No Kings protests: lawyers, teachers, parents, students, and everyday people making it clear they haven’t given up on democracy. They were saying what our nation was built to remember: no one is above the law—not now, not ever.
At the same time, the shutdown continues, and it is taking a real toll. Courts are scaling back, agencies are closed, and families are missing paychecks. Justice is slowing down for those who can least afford it, including immigrants waiting for hearings or work permits, whistleblowers who need protection, and communities left without the oversight that keeps them safe.
But people are not giving up. Lawyers are organizing, advocates are building, and the fight for accountability is still growing. In this Docket, we are focused on that fight: stopping an unfit judicial nominee, protecting the data that keeps our communities informed, staffing work-permit clinics for asylum seekers, and preparing for what comes next.
⚡ URGENT ACTION
🛑 Tell the Senate: Reject Trump’s Dangerous Judicial Nominee
📍 L4GG.org/RejectBragdon | 2 min
President Trump’s nominee for the U.S. District Court in North Carolina—David Bragdon—has no place on the federal bench. If confirmed, he’ll have lifetime power over cases impacting abortion access, racial justice, and government accountability. He has:
Dismissed racial bias in the death penalty, suggesting the solution is to execute more white people.
Equated abortion with murder and said pregnant people must “face the consequences.”
Vilified welfare recipients and implied that “equality” threatens American values.
Federal judges should protect our rights—not push personal ideology. Bragdon’s nomination is moving fast in the Senate Judiciary Committee. Take action now to stop this dangerous appointment!

🌍 Submit a Comment: Protect Climate Accountability
📩 Email NPRM-comments@L4GG.org for templates | Deadline: Nov 3
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is proposing to eliminate the Greenhouse Gas Reporting Program, a critical policy that provides the data behind many regulations protecting your community’s health, air quality, and infrastructure.
This is a high-stakes moment for both democratic participation and environmental protection. If this reporting program is removed, major polluters will no longer have to disclose their climate impacts—not to the public, the EPA, or the communities most at risk.
Sending a form letter or signing a petition won’t cut it here. Only detailed, substantive comments carry legal weight, and the EPA is required by law to review and respond to them.
That’s where you come in. We know that writing a regulatory comment can seem daunting, so L4GG created custom toolkits for scientists, legal and policy professionals, and everyday community members. These resources break down the legal requirements into clear, easy-to-use templates that will help you craft a powerful comment the EPA must consider.
Email us at NPRM-comments@L4GG.org to access the toolkit and start drafting your comment today. The deadline to submit to the federal docket is November 3, 2025.
We’ll be back in two weeks with more ways to take action—but the work doesn’t stop here.
